More Than a Meal,
It’s a Greek Experience.

The story behind Let’s Do Greek

Let’s Do Greek was born from a passion for food, family and the traditions that bring people together.

Founder Danny Papaioanou grew up surrounded by the energy of a busy takeaway shop, learning the importance of customer service and connection from a young age.

With Greek heritage and strong family roots, Danny was raised in a culture where food is more than just a meal. It is how stories are shared, relationships are built and moments are celebrated.

Inspired by his mother’s cooking and traditional Greek recipes passed down through generations, Let’s Do Greek was created to bring those flavours and experiences to Mackay. The restaurant reflects the warmth, generosity and hospitality that Greek culture is known for, where every guest is welcomed and every meal is made to be enjoyed together.

The family includes a woman in a yellow floral dress, a man in a black shirt, and a young girl in a yellow dress with pink flowers. The woman is holding the girl, and the man is standing beside them.

Inspired by tradition,
served with purpose

The food and wine at Let’s Do Greek are shaped by the same traditions that inspired the restaurant itself.

Every dish reflects the flavours, techniques and care passed down through generations, where cooking is about more than just ingredients, it is about bringing people together.

In Greek culture, meals are made to be shared and celebrated. That philosophy carries through every part of the menu, from the way dishes are prepared to how they are served at the table. Our wine selection follows the same approach. Each bottle is chosen not just for its flavour, but for how it complements the experience, pairing naturally with the food and enhancing the moments shared around it.

Together, the food and wine create something simple but meaningful. An experience that feels authentic, generous and made to be enjoyed.
